CI Kernel

I wonder why kernel of CodeIgniter is not a package like laravel/framework?  I think copy/paste is not a good solution for upgrades. Can someone explain this?

CodeIgniter is NOT Laravel. CI is it's own framework with it's own identity. If you want to use Laravel use Laravel.

I too am tired of seeing this comparison. Plus I am not web artisan.

well from my point of view there seems to be a good amount of people here trying to get the CI Dev Team to turn CI into Laravel. If you want Laravel use it.

Be calm. I don't compare with CI and Laravel. It was just a question. I have to download the framework when someone sent new commit on kernel. But OK, I understand. CodeIgniter is NOT Laravel.
