You can wait. The changes involve rare issues. Unless you're paranoid about security.

hah, no I'm not pranoik) but I also do not miss the opportunity to install every update. I just thought it was somehow related to CI4 and new features ... Thanks for the reply!

If your running XAMPP you can just download it, unzip it and copy it into the php folder.
It has nothing to do with CodeIgniter it's just a PHP update.
