Email configuration doesn't work?

No, it was a long weekend, but even if it weren't, I'd love your help tracking this down. Are you able to identify in the code why this may be happening? Any similar reports on these forums of bug tracker? Anything you can do to make my life easier will result in this getting fixed faster
