iOS Safari Sessions Issue Using IonAuth

I'm using IonAuth for user authentication on CI3. Everything works perfectly on desktop browsers and iOS Chrome. However on iOS Safari, the user is prompted to login each time they open the site in a new browser window.

Anyone else seen this issue? Is there a way to keep the login session through multiple browser windows?
