Flexigrid - Lightweight but rich data grid |

------ mslinuz - 26 August 2008 09:14 PM just wanna ask, i wonder if anybody here ever successfully applied a date range for filter?? it may be done by adding a button which will handle this purpose but embeded one will b nicer this is great btw ^-^ ------ Quick Search, is what it is - a Quick Search, it was never meant to replace detailed and advance filter UIs. This is usually approached by placing a form at the top of a grid. You can add a more advance filter and search system by attaching a form to flexigrid. Like so: http://webplicity.net/flexigrid/sample1.html --- I guess so. Im trying to place a button in the bar n trigger a modal dialog for advanced search. thx for the reply
I have those options already working in a project of mine, I'm going to try and make a sample for you (and others) to download. ... I'll try to make some documentation on the weekend in order to help some inexperienced users.
I'm looking forward for your sample and documentation on the implementation of add/delete buttons. Many thanks...

Hello, I did some documentation, you can check it out http://flexigrid.eyeviewdesign.com . I also advise to download the files again, I did some changes and added the "Delete" example. Its not much, but its a start. I'm going to create a thread here on the forum for feedback related to the lib, I'll post the url here soon. As for the Add and Delete examples: I don't have any Add example, I just had that icon there because its default on Flexigrid's demos. To add something to the database, I just use a plain old form. The Delete feature however, altho not mentioned in the documentation, is in a sample on the new download file. I think its very simple, but if necessary I will write about it later. Please bare with me, I do not usually do documentation for the masses. Any feedback is welcome. Thanks, *EDIT* Thread created, you can send feed back here: http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/90208/
Holy cow this thread has reached epic proportions, considering its been leading views on this section for several months now. I created a unofficial google group for Flexigrid http://groups.google.com/group/jqueryflexigrid I dunno who owns 'group/flexigrid' maybe it is one of you guys? It will be easier to track peoples questions in the group instead of a humongous thread.
I own http://groups.google.com/group/flexigrid/. So If you want something more official you can signup there.

Hi Paulo, -- is this thread still live or should everyone move to the http://groups.google.com/group/flexigrid group instead? -- first of all thanks for this great plugin. i started playing jQuery and this plug in for about a week. one problem i am encountering is the speed while loading the results in the grid. when i limit the rp to 15, the response is fine, however if i set the rp to 250 then loading the data retrieved is very slow. 201 rows of data is being returned from MSSQL in 158ms(0.158 seconds) according to firebug (which if fine). but during the actual parsing of the JSON data it takes 17000ms (17 seconds). i'm considering utilizing flexigrid in a production environment to connect to MSSQL dbs (with hundreds of thousands of records) using PHP. im also building additional plugins for download/email of the data for flexigrid do you have any ideas as to why it takes so long? or any ideas as to how to speedup processing? would XML be any better? my current development is on an intranet, so i will provide a link once i have made it available on the internet. Thanks. http://groups.google.com/group/flexigrid
