Documentation improvements

The doc needs more details, like on php.net. It needs a complete description of all parameters, return value and multiple code example for all functions. I'm not familiar with the CI3 doc since I use CI2. Maybe it's more detailed in the CI3 doc. But a lot of time I had to look at the actual CI code to know what are the parameters and return value for a function.
