[split] CodeIgniter 3 Will be Released Under the MIT License
#1

The website needs a more modern design. But there I cannot help since I'm not a professional designer.

As for things the website should have. I think the website now has all the information that is needed. It's just not displaying it in the best way.

Things I'd change even before the new website is done. Just to make this one a bit better:

1. The logo in the navbar shouldn't be placed like that. The navbar should be bigger and the logo should be in the middle of it.
2. Same thing goes to those 2 logos at the bottom.
3. Everything needs a bit more space. All the information is cramped up on top of each other.
4. The big logo in at the front page it's not in the default ci color. Is that going to change?
5. Make use of all bootstrap capabilities and make the website responsive.

I personally think that making changes to the brand already created around ci is not a good idea. And we should keep what ElisLab as done well. Sure they discarded the Ci brand in the last few years. They were not getting any profit from it. But what they did with the CI brand until that point shouldn't go away.

These are my main concerns.

ps: this are my first post at the forums. I'm really excited about what is happening around CI right now. Keep up the good news.

I moved this thread to this forum, as it has nothing to do with the MIT license, but instead applies to changes for CodeIgniter 3 Smile

It doesn't have anything to do with the license, but what does it have to do with CI3?

CI3 can exist with, or without the website and vice-versa.

I think the site could be made to be more modern.

However what we have here is functional and can do for now.

Perhaps there could be a competition to come up with a decent design?

True, but it seemed the best fit! We don't have a subforum to deal with the website. Should we?

No, I'd just rather put it into the "News & Discussion" forum (and move away help requests from there).
