I'm guessing that you're referring to the tutorial in the CI manual which shows you how to build a basic "news" application. It is a tutorial, as far as I know there is no code actually included in the distribution, you have to write it yourself, following the tutorial in the manual.

Are you using CI 3.0 or the earlier 2.2.x?
