Full Version: Deploying Codeigniter
You're currently viewing a stripped down version of our content. View the full version with proper formatting.
I am a hobbyist. My living doesn't depend on Codeigniter but my fun does! I have a shared hosting account and I run several static websites as folders off public_html.

My question is: Can I deploy my codeigniter project by just uploading all the files to a folder below public_html?

Thanks,
Paul
Yes you can, but you will need to re-setup the configuration to match also if you move the system and application folders you need to reset them to the path in index.php
Well I uploaded to a folder called code-ig. I changed line 26 to read $config['base_url'] = 'http://www.6ku.us/code-ig/

I get the error msg:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected 've' (T_STRING) in /home/a6kuus/public_html/code-ig/application/config/config.php on line 33

This is repeated once below the original line.
Line 33 is a comment.
The broweser seems to be going line by line rejecting each line of code. It is even reading and rejecting the comments!

Thanks,
Paul
Post your config.php, using

Ok here it is I erased some of the comments but none of the code, trying to get it to work.
Code:

| to $_SERVER['SERVER_ADDR'] if available, or localhost otherwise.

Well, Dang! LOL It's just amazing how I was pulling my hair out over this and it was just because of a missing quote mark! Thanks so much for spotting that for me, ciadmin. It works great now!
