Phil, these are discussion forums, not just Q & A. Clarifying his expectations is crucial. I wasn't having fun at his expense.

I'm sure you weren't having fun at his expense but you suggested he was question/approach was wrong without offering any suggestions, alternatives or asking any questions.
If somebody makes no sense with their request then ask them a few questions to work it out, that's fair enough.
If we don't know the answer we should leave the reply to someone who does.
If we DO know the answer - even if we don't like it or agree, we should give them the answer then suggest the way we would prefer to do it ourselves and let them discus.
That was all I was getting at. :red:
