Might give an indication on the OS they're using. 5.1.6 is the current PHP release for Redhat EL 5 (and derivatives, like CentOS).

A bit drastic, imho.
I run EL5 on my production servers as well, the fact that Redhat doesn't have a particular version of a particular package in their official feeds shouldn't stop you from keeping your server up to date...

I dont run *nix period here. All Server 2008 based machines.

Haven't had a single issue since we got the server over a year ago. Infact all 8 of my boxes run without a hiccup.
