I have no interest in adding further comments to that thread relating to whether or not CI is outdated. Anything I could say has already been said, and there's nothing that anyone can say that would change the minds of those stubborn individuals who feel like mocking CI and its developers / users. Don't feed the trolls.
I did post a comment, though, that points out the errors and flaws of the article. It drives me nuts when 1) a website that does articles for a living can't edit one properly, and 2) when code in a TUTORIAL is crappy.
