Exciting to see a seemingly solid CMS (okay... CMT) being built on CI, even if it looks pretty much just like EE.

Yeah, I hope I'm not taking away what Drew is doing here by prematurely comparing it to EE. I think it's great so far and will be a great tool when it's released.
Actually, I'd be interested in donating to the cause if he's interested. I'll never get around to building my own CI-based CMS, so all the better to support a solid start like Firerift.

I remember being linked to this a while back on the Freelance Switch forums now that I've seen the site. Although I think the video for it is just wierd!

I am interested to see what it will be like. But think he should have spent the time on getting a demo up instead of that dumb commercial. What does that even have to do with the product except make me think he is obsessed with star wars?

I liked the commercial as a fun little marketing tool. It obviously hasn't played well with his target audience because they just want to see the thing work. He mentioned elsewhere that he's a movie/film editing buff, so it's just a reflection of his personality.

I can understand his point. I feel however that a movie which doesn't actulaay talk about the product is not marketing it. From this movie I did not learn anything.
The UI is looking cool thou. While it reminds me of http://virb.com/ and other apple-like interfaces, I still love it.
