HTML 5 - El Forum - 11-10-2008 [eluser]obiron2[/eluser] Has anyone done any work on the new features available in HTML5, especially around form fields. Is there going to be a CI working party to keep it at the forefront of web development frameworks? Long live CI. Obiron HTML 5 - El Forum - 11-10-2008 [eluser]Pascal Kriete[/eluser] You mean attributes like inputmode and datalist? I'm not aware of any browser that supports them yet ... and it'll probably be a while. There are a few interesting things in the spec - particularly the structure ones (header, footer, section) and the media stuff. I've been watching css 3 more closely than html 5 though. I suppose Webkit will get to a few more of them within the next year or so (if they stop adding so many of their own). IE 9 might actually include some of the css 3 stuff like corner-radius. Essentialy - forgetaboutit. Even if Webkit and Gecko start supporting these; half the world is still on IE 6. Javascript has the potential to save CSS 3, but HTML 5 is wishful thinking. |
