i have followed the install instructions.
i cant seem to get past the welcome screen.
yes i am dumb and my weener is small (hence my stupidity)
the guide is made for people that are above the learning stage.

not going to worry about this as it seems like you have to be an expert at php to even get a reply here.

Costumer, how much did you have to pay..?
Theres really not that much talk about php here. If you're trying to learn more about php you probably better off in a php forum. But you don't need more than basic knowledge of php to get a hang of CI.

In the future, whatever you want to use, you should explain a little bit more what is the problem. You just said you didnt get past the welcome screen. We are not psychics(at least not me) so you should have told what have you done after the installation. Or have you misunderstood what CI really is? There really isnt anything more than the initial welcome screen. After that you start to code your own controllers, models and views etc..

Now you're showing skills as a comedian, maybe you should try that as a profession. Hint for the future: Users of this forum doesn't care much for people that starts bitching about CI before they've even given it a good go.

Hi and welcome to the forum. CI is indeed a good learning tool to make you use good design patterns without needing to know the theory behind them. Hence it will teach you a better way of setting up your project without falling into the many pitfalls beginning PHP programmers step into. So if you want to learn programming PHP, this is a very good starting point.
If you could explain in more detail what exactly is your problem, I'm sure someone can help you along. For now I would suggest following the blog tutorial or one of the many other tutorials available.
