I am muchly a newbie programmer, who was in fact trained for two years in OOP but I never worked in the feild.
I've started learning codeigniter (and php for that matter), and am wondering if these two codeigniter books are considered good learning sources.

I advise to read the 2nd book (from Wrox). The book is based on an idea of doing a real project ("an on-line shop") using the agile methodology. The book is more about CI than PHP.
