oh and does that CURRENT_PAGE in the hidden form actually work or were you just demonstrating. In my current site i user a session variable and have it updated everytime they go to a new page and when they login i use a header to redirect them back to the page they were on.

It was a demonstration of a way to keep the current page upon redirects. If you store it in the session that that is fine.
