Hi,
Can't think of any FREE editor for Mac. But I personally preferred Textmate when coding in Mac. On Windows, I used Notepad++ and is recently discovered a plugin for Notepad++ named Fingertext done a very excellent job for code expand.

I use TextWranler and I really like it, it's free but don't have autocomplete.
Free + Autocomplete the only one I can remember now is Netbeans, it's more a kind of IDE than a simple editor...

It is free from http://netbeans.org - I use both Netbeans for "big project" work and Notepad++ for simpler tasks.
