For those of you coming across similar issues, there's a "debug" option in the WordPress config. Once you enable this, you'll see all CodeIgniter warnings/errors. I'm not a WordPress expert, but I seem to have become quite experienced in combining WordPress and CodeIgniter, so send me a PM if you need a hand with this.
