Yes, its just a text email sent to "the phone number" at the carriers isp. The problem is, each carrier has their own isp so you probably won't be able to find the address to send to for every cell company that exists to make this work for all users. Like for AT&T subscribers, you send an email to [email protected] where the numbers are the phone number of the person to send the SMS to.
