Unless you're referring to the guy just above you - im pretty sure hes a spammer

See the little button on top of post [report] all users will report spam!
I was just saying that spammers do not get far because I am on here 5 or 6 times a day and will flag all of them and report them!
And what do you think someone would think of a post with bot in it?
Also the CodeIgniter forums are from ExpressionEngine EllisLabs Flagship CMS not CodeIgniter.

Creator of CI_Polite_Bot here.
That bot is a Python bot. It use Riak DB as its storage. Regarding how its monitor either Codeigniter forum or Codeigniter repo (in Github), it simply perform a http request (with specific interval) to the RSS feed that available both in CI Forum and Github, then it post the new thread/activity on IRC.
