It works !!!
Im not sure what I have done but it now works !
I went in and changed a few configuration settings in my apache set up. I think i had a couple of things missing.
But it now works.
I cant remember what I did thou as I changed a few things !

Yes I did note that he said he already had wordpress running, but also depends what his root web structure is. If he had any alias running etc, always worth checking.
In the end it was to do with his web server and not codeigniter.
