I am new to CI and the M-V-C approach but very interested in employing this approach to formalize and add structure to my work.

I am following the News Tutorial and once I get to the "Routing" section of this page > http://ellislab.com/codeigniter/user-guide/tutorial/static_pages.html < I receive an error stating "No input file specified." I've tried building this simple news page twice and I still get this error. I've also tried searching to see where this error string is coming from and I can't seem to locate it in any of the native CI files.

I should state that I'm working with CI under a "test" subdomain, so the url I'm inputting looks like > http://test.mysite.com/index.php/pages/view

I must be missing something, but I just don't see what it might be. Any advice offered is much appreciated.

Thank you.

You may need to adjust your config depending on your host. See various ideas/suggestions in this thread, perhaps one will help you. http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/55620/

Thank you for your reply. I've continued to try various settings and I cannot get the News tutorial to show even the very first page view. Utterly frustrating. It seems that Godaddy is a problem (mentioned in many posts here) and unlike others that must work with it, I can give them the boot today and just move on to a different host.

The question is, is Godaddy really the problem here? Before I commit to a year of hosting somewhere else, I'd really like to know if simply moving on will resolve this very first issue I've encountered.

Thanks in advance to whatever insights are shared.

I can't definitively say if a new host will solve your problems, but GoDaddy is not a very reliable host. I'd suggest somewhere else. Rackspace, Media Temple, A Small Orange are a few good ones off the top of my head.
