I have a custom content management system developed using codeigniter. Now I want to add an option to post an article to facebook at the same time it is created. I want to know whether it is possible??. can any one help me..

Have you had a look on google? Have you read the official facebook developers/api documentation?

Note, this will cause duplicate content issues and may impact your organic rankings on the search engines. Better idea to just publish a teaser (one paragraph should do the trick) on facebook with a link back to the full article.
