Some may work some not depending on your server and operating system.

This looks awesome -- and something like this should really be part of codeigniter files -- its got to be the one of the main stumbling block for trying to setup codeigniter and one of the most often asked questions on stackoverflow etc. one suggestion would be to put some text in the github read me - then it will be easier to find in searches etc.
