I'm thinking many have changed since 2009 so I'm really thinking about what to watch. I learn better when watching a video tutorial rather than reading it.. suggestions?

Yes, but remember you will need to change a lot of the controller / method names etc;
Also the structure of the application may need to also be changed to match any CI changes.
