Google Chrome Moving to all HTTPS - InsiteFX - 09-26-2017
HEADS UP:
The new version of Google Chrome is now throwing warning on forms if they are not
accessed using HTTPS.
From their documents they are going to be moving to strictly HTTPS in the future.

Chrome is doing that since Jan 2017. Created a lot of work for me.
Some easy to fix others proofed really difficult.
Google is forcing everybody to https. Even the SEO guys say that sites without https loose credibility and ranking. But that is confirmed, but knowing Google this good be likely.

Yes they have done this for ages and for good reason. They are saying 'this form is asking you to post personal info but it is doing it over the open internet'.
As for site status being affected by not having https, again yes, because your site ownership/status has not been validated in any way. How big the affect is, is hard to say, but like all factors they consider, this is one that will add positively or negatively to your rankings. Like all things google it is not devastating, unless you have something like an unsecure login form, that would be bad. A non secure homepage that has no forms or user input, that is not so bad.

When talking about SEO/website traffic, there should be no traffic loss after switching to HTTPS unless something was done wrong.

Hello brickston. Switch to the https protocol, which should be handled well to ensure that it does not affect keyword rankings. I think so.
