strange problem with ie 7 - El Forum - 06-14-2008

I have a search page...searching for clients. It returns a grid with client names. If you double click on a row it goes to a detail page. All works as advertised in Firefox. However, in IE7 nothing appears to happen, you don't gp to the detail page unless you click somewhere on the search page first. Its as though for some reason IE dos'nt think the page has loaded.
Any one any experience of this
