I use Ion Auth and its pretty easy to install and use. It could use some updates and cleanup but it's good at what it does.

Focus on getting 3.0 out and worry about minimum versions and things like that when the 4.0 discussion starts. I am just glad 3.0 is going to finally get released soon.
