This is usually not used on forms I am using: html_escape() in views and in database queries: escape()

I created version PL https://codeigniter.com.pl with front: Materialize CSS and CI + PWA, is light and transparent, maybe this is the right direction :)

I think CI4 is the same mistake like with CI2/CI3 at the beginning + poor (test?) documentation, some good, but paid courses, some people will use it, the rest will escape to Laravel, Yii, Symfony, wh...

I think CI is more toolkit than framework, speeds up page building, not require a lot of time, works on shared hosting. Laravel, Symfony sometimes is overbloated (but it's good frameworks too).

ION-auth is the most developed (one and only?), if you want something newer, you must change framework to laravel, or symfony.

There is not much difference, CI is fast framework.
