discover RSS links from html links (feedburner api?)

Hello,
I am curious if anyone has encountered a service or api for giving a link like nytimes.com/this/that/someonesblog.html and having the service discover if there is an rss link there. You can do this process manually through the feed burner interface, but am curious if that process is automated in the feedburner api?

None that I know of, but I can't really say I've been looking either. It would be a pretty easy thing to setup.
