chinese utf8 support in codeignitter

Hello,

i am new in this forum and even to work with codeigniter. I like it.
i try to build a multi language site.
I work with the newest version of codeigentier.

But unfortunately, i can not get shown the special character right for languages like german, czech, chinese or russian. i just get question marks.
I checked already the settings of my browser.
it is set to utf-8.

What do i have to do to get this issue solved?

You have to make sure your database is setup correctly for UTF-8 as well. phil sturgeon and elliot haughin made blogs which should get you up to speed.

hi, htanks first of all. right now i do have the problem with static text not with data from the database. just copied and pasted text as chinese , russian..... do not get displayed, just ????????.

in Zend does it work for example. what shows me the it nan not be issue with some browser or pc settings at all.

any idea?

mybe a render issue?
using a not approbiate function to convert text?
