form_validation: naming a field "name" and set_value() function

I tried doing this, but every time I set the text field with a name "name" it doesn't work.
set_value() always comes out blank, I'm not sure why

PS: I have set a rule for the "name" field, but that didn't work either.

Can you post your code? so then we can take a look where is the mistake..
