I've been using the 3-branch for a while now, on both testing as production sites. It's stable enough for me to work, and I haven't run into any issues.

It's been said that one of the main reasons that Elllislab never released CI3 is because of the lacking documentation. Of course there have been individuals publishing the docs anyway, but I think it's worth noting that BCIT has now published them on codeigniter.com too.

It's a small step for documentation, but a giant leap for CI!

I've been using 2.2 for a while now, waiting for 3.0 to be stable. Will you guys be putting our a "this feature in v2 will not work or works differently in v3" list?

There's a pretty exhaustive list already in the 3.0 manual:

Wow that is a big list, thanks. Reminds me of the days when I had to try and add plugins to oscommerce.

I'm running on CI.3 beta without problems for some months now. No need to wait for the public release if you want to use it.

This thread was really helpful to me.
I decided to use the CI3.x for my next Students web portal system.
Thanks guys!

I've been developing using CI for around 2 years now, and CI3 is what I've been expecting for so long, because we can then be sure that CI is evolving as any other good framework out there.

And also was trying to not go to get into Laravel development(which is not a pure framework) hoping CI will boost up once again in the near future. Actually I hoped it would take next year first quater! :-)

Thanks Kilishan for the Upgrades listing.

Wish CI become an incredible, yet simplest framework for PHP devs all time!
Cheers!!!
