A photo sharing website with code igniter

Hello,

I am new to codeigniter and php. Before this I have completed building a website using Drupal 6 (http://www.roadwaylights.com). My interest in codeigniter is mainly due to Drupal being so slow on shared hosting.

My next project is to build a simple photo sharing website similar to http://www.playrec.com

Is there any step by step tutorial available on building such website ? If not, can anybody
give me any links for getting started. What I am currently puzzled about is the database structure that I will need, to build such a website. I have found many nettuts video tutorial on the internet but each of them are focused on a specific topic rather a complete website.

If anybody helps, I will remain grateful to him/her.
