Ok, so how the hell can we make codeigniter more effective at recognising mobile browsers?

There are 800+ of them, all returning different agent_strings... there are a number of different open source databases out there... So whats the best one to use?

How do we get CI to be the best damn PHP framework at picking mobile vs. desktop?

(Now have a vested interest in it and a client that wants to be able to do this effectively in a week).

After lots of looking: http://deviceatlas.com/ Seems to be the best by far, i've changed their PHP to be a CI library (It uses a 450KB json file that you pay a subscription to keep current) and its successfully picked 20/20 devices that i've tried.

I know for a fact someone on here has been working on this for a few months, be nice if he piped up around about now.

Success rate is about 28/30 devices now so not 100% but still pretty good
