getting 500 error from server. Why?

I have found that when i load test with jmeter, I occasionally am getting a 500 server error. See example. I have only seen this when I am running 30 copies at the same time, started over 80 seconds. I thought that this was from the RDS server. But now I am wondering if this is CI/3 issue? How can I determine?
