Pagnation Current Page and Links

The documentation for pagination kind of sucks. I have it working, but now it won't recognize which page it's currently on. The first page link stays black, meaning you can never get back to the first page once you leave it, and the last page link is coming up with some number that has nothing to d with the size of the result set.
