Hi;

I have an application which simply gets an rss content and inserts to database. This process must be done periodically every 10 minutes. But I have a shared hosting account and I'm not allowed to run a php file on the server as usual. Is there another way to do this?

Thanks...
Check phpclasses.org for a class called Thread. I've been experimenting with this for Admin initiated database mirroring operations, but it should suffice for you also. It simulates multiple threads in a PHP application by starting another HTTP session which can run in parallel with the current session. The threaded process can be evaluated periodically for completion and any further action you might need to make.
