auto_typography_decode() ???

Is there a similar function as described in the title?

I use auto_typography() to format a textarea form input before putting into the database, I want to be able to use a function that changes the <br>'s back to r\n\ or whatever and remove the <p>'s? So that I can place that data back into a form for editing.

Just wondering if there is a function in CI or if there is a plug in?
