I recommend you to use vim, is a very fast editor because has a lot of commands that accelerate text edition. Furthermore has:

  • PHP completion.
  • PHP syntax checker plugin.
  • Git integration plugin.
  • Is very light, use low RAM
  • ...
  • And very useful snipets plugin (like textMate).

Greetings!

Although I do agree with this, but its very hard for people who quit vim with "killall -9 vim" to use vim effectively.

Yes, vim and emacs are great, they help you with lots of stuff...when you properly learn them. Which can take quite a while. I've been using vim for ~10 years now, and I still find something new from time to time.

Is harder than other text editors but as soon as you begin to use it earlier you will write code faster. Yes with vim always are learning.

A f1 is harder to drive than other car, but if you want to go fast... Wink

Greetings!
