i18n when it comes to formats of currency and dates/times?

I see a lot of i18n libraries that extend the language library of CI which is great but I don't see any places or code example of how to switch date, time, money formats based on the users country.

My user base grew from the US to US, Canada, Australia, UK, South Africa, and UAE (Luckily they all still speak English) but formatting is different for the minimum dates, time, and money. Is there a way to also specify those in a file and have them loaded and used in formatting? If so, what would be an example of how to format a date variable (2013-01-30) using the loaded format preference for the US (m/d/Y)?

Thanks for any information and help you can offer!

I am looking at http://jeromejaglale.com/doc/php/codeigniter_i18n library but open to others that might be more robust.
