There are different ++ and -- in those splits I agree.. 
How ever you have always a final CI framework repo which will contain all changes which are merged inside it.. So its not big difference from now. 
And normally you should look at documentation instead at the git repo for information Smile

How ever if you have stand alone packages with tests and a lot less code inside it, it can be a lot easier to make changes in it fast clear without any problems related with branches and commits (if you are too back or far away from master).
