Sometimes our questions are not about Codeigniter specifically. They are about PHP, MySQL, htaccess, programming in general, etc., etc. The best site that I have found for technical questions of all types is StackOverflow. StackOverflow is the oldest member of an entire Stack Exchange Network of sites, sites that cover questions about everything from programming to English to Dungeons and Dragons.

However, make sure you search StackOverflow thoroughly before asking a question. The people there get impatient with people who ask a question that's been answered a hundred times before. The best way to search the site, actually, is Google. In the Google search box, put something like this:
Code:
site:stackexchange.com codeigniter routing problem

There are almost 38,000 codeigniter questions StackOverflow, so it's a good place to look for answers.

Another site is SitePoint. It publishes development articles as well as sells books and courses. It also has forums covering a lot of topics. It's better for broad categories of questions. You will easier get answers there about HTML, CSS, and SQL than about Codeigniter (or any PHP framework).
Hey, don't work without a PHP debugger. Several free IDEs have this features built in. Two are NetBeans and CodeLobster. Without a debugger, it's like you're driving with a blindfold on -- you are going to crash!

plus one that stackoverflow is a great resource. the only caution is that when you first sign up and post a question
its almost a certainty that someone will downvote your question and call you a noob in the comments
for example today someone posted a question and the first comment was "hire a developer"

however don't let this detour you from posting! on the flip side stackoverflow is a great place to help other people. i've learned a lot just trying to answer questions.

its also very inspiring to see how worldwide codeigniter is.
