CI 1.6.5 => CI 1.7???

I think you'll find that CI is very backwards compatible. While upgrading I found no problems on my medium sized app. I chose to go back through and change to the new validation class but you aren't forced to. A lot of things are going to be upgradeable but very little of it should break.
