why always i run my application open a window?

I have on online application and now I want this on my laptop, then I download everything and configure everything, but each time I try open it ussing: localhost/aplication/index.php always it opens a window saying:

You have chosen to open


wich is a: aplication/x-httpd-php5
from: http://localhost

What shoul firefox do with this file?

It sounds as if you're browsing to the file in the filesystem, as opose to in a web server

Do you have a local web server setup, and if so, you probably just want to go to localhost (assuming you installed it in the web root)

Sounds to me as if Apache has not been configured to pass .php files to the PHP preprocessor, although normally that would just cause the server to spew out your source as plain text.
