I'm new to PHP, should I use this software?

Thats how I learned, I started with HTML then taught myself PERL/CGI as my first real programming language I then applied the knowledge from that language to learning ASP/VBScript, PHP, and quite a few other languages even some that are out-dated. Nothing wrong with reverse engineering an idea in your head and then reinventing the wheel, because sometimes the wheel is improved greatly.

On that same note I understand that not everyone learns in the same way. So to those of you looking for definite method of learning I say this : Find a way in which you feel comfortable, and you will learn, remember its not the path taken but the knowledge obtained from the journey.

I am not a philosopher by any means so cut me some slack.
