how can i upload .doc file and .pdf file ?

i am working on job portal. i need to upload a cv of user, that can be in .doc or .pdf format. but i don' t know:

1) how to write a code?
2) how it will store? either in database or some file ?

It didn't show how to upload a .doc file or a .pdf file? Maybe they should have named it Image Uploading Class then...

PS. It's the same thing... just change extensions..

It's essentially the same concept, just change the allowed file types (you may need to edit the mime types) to include doc and pdf
