Mootools, Scriptaculous, Prototype, YUI or JQuery? |
Except that you don't have to chain methods in jQuery if you don't want to. But it is there for your use. You don't even have to use the $ shortcut if you don't want to. Heck, you can even change it to something else ... You use what you want, I'm not trying to talk you out of it, but I want people who are against jQuery to understand it before trying to talk other people out of it. I quite like jQuery and have done quite a bit with it.
I'm certain you have. In fact, there's a TON of great things that have been done with jQuery - I just have a preference for prototype. Again, I tried to make it clear that it's a personal preference versus a shot against jQuery. I don't happen to like their documentation nor do I like the way some things are implemented. Does that make it less powerful? no. A good comparison to me is the difference between a Chevy and Ford pickup truck. They both achieve basically the same functions; so why do people become passionate about why they feel one is better than the other? |
