Hi Sanwar,
That's a good idea and I guess many people are working around it by now. As it's a colossal job, I think the best scenario could be a collection of independant libraries available for the CI developers, rather than a CMS out of the box. In this case, every developer could involve in creating the bricks that could raise the final building. The first think to do is to define a plan (we need a director of project). What are the minimum requested modules in a shop on line ? The cart, the customer account, the delivery fees, the payment API (Paypal, ATOS, etc.). Concerning the articles: the title, the intro, the description, the photos, the price, the tax, the reductions, the categories, the permalink, the keywords. The rest is a matter of interface, and each developer could create it's own.

Of course, the CI developers community can also contribute in making interface models as libraries.
